Nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, ChildHelp USA since 1959 has been committed in meeting the special physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of abused and neglected children. "A Kinder World" has joined in the efforts of ChildHelp USA by becoming a "Partner in Hope".
Children's Miracle Network Founded in 1983, Children's Miracle Network generates health-care funds and awareness programs for the benefits of children. Working through 174 participating hospitals across North America they help 17 million children annually.
CARE Poverty is a humanitarian crisis in every part of the globe,
And 70% of the world's poorest are women and girls. Despite being disportionately affected by poverty, women may hold the key to overcoming it. CARE's over 60 years of on-the-ground experience shows that if given the opportunity, women overwhelmingly invest in their families and improve the nutrition, health, and education of their children.
UNIFEM UNIFEM is ther women's fund at the United Nations. Established in 1976, it provides financial and technical assistance to innovative approaches aimed at fostering women's empowerment and gender equality. Today, UNIFEM's work touches the lives of women and girls in more than 100 countries.
The Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy Founded in 1967 by William Holden, Julian McKeand and Don and Iris Hunt, the Ranch fosters care to the injured and orphaned wildlife of Africa, including careful breeding programs of the white zebra, cheetahs, and the mountain bongo. Today, through their Wildlife Foundation, founded by Stephanie Powers and the Hunts, thousands of Kenyan children are learning to appreciate the importance of the preservation of their precious and unique wildlife.
Gabriel's Angels Gabriels, Angels' "Pets Helping Kids" delivers healing pet therapy to abused, neglected and at-risk children, nurturing their ability to love and trust, thereby freeing them from the cycle of violence.
Nanyuki Spinners and Weavers Nanyuki Spinners and Weavers is a women's self help project in East Africa. Its purpose is to train poor, widowed and single women in the craft of spinning, knitting, and weaving wool to become self reliant. Many of the 282 trained women have gone from being squatters in their villages to owning land and building their own home as well as starting other similar projects of their own.
Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary Owing to the ongoing destruction of the west and central African rainforest and continued demand for bush-meat, Sweetwaters provides a secure and permanent refuge for orphaned and abused chimpanzees.
